"Creating a work of beauty from a blank canvas lifts the spirit and transcends the mind.”
Karen Kozojet Ching shares awestruck moments through each painting. Her visceral connection to the natural world is a continuous source of inspiration, hope and renewal. Her original artworks are not just visuals; they are experiences.
Ching is an inaugural studio artist and arts educator at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Virginia. Her evolving style is a fusion of impressionism and abstract expressionism. The expressionistic brushstrokes dance across the canvas in a rhythmic burst of color. The luminosity is achieved through a series of transparent glazes. The Fairfax Station, Virginia artist adds textural elements with sgraffito, impasto, drips, spatter, collage, and iridescent and metallic paints.
Ching’s artwork is exhibited and collected throughout the District, Maryland, Virginia and beyond.
